Glenn co-founded Emergent Building Approvals in 2016 and is a Level 1 accredited Building Certifier with over 23 years’ experience in the building industry in Queensland. Glenn started from a grass roots level within the industry as a carpenter and continued his professional development with tertiary studies and years of experience working for one of Queensland’s largest building certification firms. His experience extends to residential, commercial, healthcare, retail and industrial projects in both private and public sectors. Glenn continues to fulfil an advocacy role in his profession through committee roles for both the Far North Queensland Chapter of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors and the Housing Industry Association.

Beau Thornton
Level 2 Building Surveyor
Beau Thornton is a Level 2 Building Certifier and specialises in fast-track approvals for residential projects. He has gained a wide range of experience in both residential and commercial projects throughout the North Queensland Region. Beau also began his career within the construction industry in a practical role but has developed this underpinning practical knowledge further by coupling it with a thorough understanding of the gamut of building control legislation. This includes planning matters of the various Local Government planning schemes as well as the Building Code and associated building assessment provisions prescribed under legislation. He provides a solution-based approach in his decision-making processes and continues to develop further professionally with his tertiary studies.

Carmel is our office Manager and covers all aspects of the day to day operations of the business including inspection bookings, council lodgements as well as ensuring our clients’ phone calls and emails are responded to in a timely manner. She has over 15 years of senior office/administration experience, so she understands the demands of running a business and our clients’ needs and is committed to ensuring every detail of our service is delivered at a high standard.

Nicole is our fully qualified Administration Assistant (guru) in our Mareeba office. Nicole covers all aspects of the day to day operations of the office including inspection bookings and council lodgements, as well as ensuring our clients needs are met in a timely manner. Her enthusiastic approach ensures a smooth process when lodging your building application.
